Channahon
In the language of the Potawatomi, Channahon means "Meeting of the Waters". Channahon is located in Grundy County, a suburb of Chicago. The Des Plains River joins the Kankakee River and forms the Illinois River, this is where Channahon rests. The Park District holds over 210 acres used for parks, sports fields, trails, picnic space, and playgrounds. The population of Channahon is over 12,600 in 2016.
